Introducing Go Bamboo clothes pegs, made from sustainable, biodegradable bamboo with a degradable steel spring, packaged in a recycled cardboard box. Clothes pegs are often found washed up on local beaches, this is because they fall off the line and get flushed down drains by storm water, eventually finding their way into the sea.
Bamboo clothes pegs are an environmentally friendly and sustainable alterative to plastic pegs and are incredibly strong and durable in Australia's harsh UV conditions. Bamboo naturally contains very few tannins (unlike wooden pegs) so won't stain your light coloured clothes.
Bamboo is an amazing material. It is a super fast growing grass (some varieties grow up to a meter a day, it’s yield is 6 times that of regular trees), it absorbs 7-30% more carbon dioxide from the air and emits up to 30% more oxygen than equivalent areas of trees, it needs half as much water as regular trees, it doesn’t need fertilizers or pesticides and there are no genetically modified variants. The wood produced from bamboo is amazingly strong, with the tensile strength of steel (look on You Tube for skate boarders ) and is incredibly beautiful.
All our products are made from a species of bamboo called Moso. The Giant and Red Pandas eat up to 30 different verieties of bamboo, Moso is not one of them as it is too large and woody.
By considerately planting more areas of bamboo we can help to cut globally rising levels of carbon dioxide and help reduce global warming. By choosing bamboo as an alternative to plastic we are reducing our carbon footprint.
